Alfred Eisenstaedt project

Eisenstaedt was running around Time Square on VJ Day when he saw this sailor running around grabbing every girl in sight. He said in a flash he saw something white being grabbed, and in a second he captured the sailor kissing this nurse, he was done within a few seconds.

This picture of a woman playing tennis was the first picture he ever sold and sold it for 3 dollars in a German weekly newspaper. The picture was taken in Czechoslovakia in 1927.

Marylin Monroe, 1953. When Alfred took these pictures he used black and white film and he used color. This is his favorite picture of her, it was taken on a patio at her Hollywood home.

Another famous picture of his, children watching "Saint George and the Dragon" at a puppet theatre in Paris France, 1963.
